India's Largest Piggery Project

The Piggery Mission has been restructured to suit the needs of a post-covid world. Funded by a National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), the mission will be implemented through Cooperative Societies & will benefit over 25,000 people in Meghalaya.

Aims & Objectives of M-LEADS

Unifying the activities of Meghalaya Piggery Mission & Meghalaya Milk Mission under one entity.

Implementation of Meghalaya Piggery Mission & Meghalaya Milk Mission in the state.

Promote and develop livestock sector in the state to create livelihood opportunities and to achieve self-reliance in meeting the demand of livestock products.

Promote development of cooperative societies in the state.

The Government of Meghalaya launched the Meghalaya State Piggery Mission on 10th September 2020

Vision

“Meghalaya Piggery Mission aims to make the state self-sufficient in pork production, improve incomes of over 25,000 households, enhance food security, strengthen cooperative culture and credit extensions, and improve the nutritional status of the State’s population.”
