Funding Mechanism

Loans to Cooperative Societies:

Cooperative Societies shall be the primary units for the implementation of the Piggery Mission
Cooperative Societies shall be extended 0% interest rate loans by MCAB for undertaking breeding and fattening units
Ideally units are to be established by individual members of a Cooperative Societies. However, Cooperative Societies, on its own, may also undertake breeding and fattening activities.
Breeding unit to fattening unit’s ratio shall ideally be 1:4 in a Cooperative Society.
Maximum loan that can be availed by a Cooperative Society has been capped at Rs. 20 Lakhs.
Additional support shall be extended in future for setting up of slaughterhouses, pork vending kiosks, feed mills and support for transport vehicles.

Loans to Individuals through Cooperative Societies:

An individual can avail loan of Rs. 2,35,000 for establishing a Breeding Unit with 1 boar & 4 sows.
An individual can avail loan of Rs. 50,000 for setting up a Fattening Unit with 4 piglets along with the construction of shed.
An individual can avail loan of Rs. 25,000 for setting up a Fattening Unit with 4 piglets without the construction of shed.
An individual shall be permitted to avail a maximum of 2 loans.
